This club has been operating for more than 30 years and continues to grow and change with the new techniques and exciting new programs offered through Skate Canada.

Our Coaches include:

 PROFILES OF OUR COACHES

 
  • Kim Duffy
 Kim Duffy is a level 3 certified professional figure skating coach and choreographer with 36 years of experience in the Charlottetown Skating club. Specializing in competitive skaters, synchronize skating, adult skating and learn to skate programs. Recipient of various provincial coaching awards including Coach of the year, Competitive coach and Volunteer coach. Recognized for her volunteer work as the Canada Winter Games figure skating team coach and the Special Olympic team coach. Director, costume designer and choreographer of annual ice shows.
Born in Quebec, trained as a competitive skater in Ottawa and Toronto, took theater classes with the great Toller Cranston. Lives on PEI with her husband Robert and two son’s Christopher and Benjamin, enjoying life’s journey.

 
  • JD Gilmour 

  • Martha Murnaghan

Martha Murnaghan is an NCCP Level 2 Certified Coach with 36 years of experience and Gold Status in the Continuous Education Program for coaches. She coaches all levels of skating – CanSkate, CanPower and Preliminary through to Gold Tests in the Skate Canada StarSkate Programs. Martha has taught in eight different clubs on the Island over the years and is now coaching in the Sherwood and Charlottetown Clubs. 


  • Keira Marshall

Regional Trained Coach
Kiera has 12 years experience as a skater and program assistant. She has been coaching for 2 years and was a nominee for the Skate Canada PEI volunteer coach of the year award in 2019. During her years as a skater she attained many Skate Canada tests, as well as many provincial and regional medals in individual and synchronized skating. Kiera recently began attending UPEI and is majoring in Diversity and Social Justice studies.
